Nate Raskin (USA)
Pianist & Coach
American pianist Nate Raskin joins the music staff of Oper Leipzig in 2022. He is also an assistant conductor at the Metropolitan Opera, having joined the roster for 2019’s Ring Cycle, and served as the staff coach for the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program. He has prepared operatic productions for LA Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, Berkshire Opera, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Chautauqua Institution, and the Castleton Festival, among others.
As a frequent recital partner, Mr. Raskin has been recently seen with singers in important venues in South Korea, Washington D.C., Santa Fe, and New York City. As an educator, he has taught diction classes at The Juilliard School and classes in art song at the Merit School of Music in Chicago.
Mr. Raskin is a graduate of the Metropolitan Opera Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, The Juilliard School, and Northwestern University; he also trained at the Aspen Music Festival, the Middlebury College Language Schools, and in Vienna, Austria. He is indebted to many mentors and teachers, including Ken Noda, Margo Garrett, Jonathan Feldman, Brian Zeger, Diane Richardson, Sylvia Wang, and the late Carolyn Hague.
